Shoreline West
Situated in the heart of Mountain View, California the Shoreline West neighborhood is bound by Escuela Avenue, Shoreline Avenue, El Camino Real and Central Expressway. You are within walking distance of downtown Mountain View with all the cornucopia of shops and restaurants to enjoy. Some of the most highly-rated and innovative chefs in the Bay Area cook cuisine from all over the world in places like Chez TJ and others.
On the west side of the neighborhood is Castro Park with plenty of room to run around and play a variety of sports. If you’d rather just spend time with family or friends, there is a picnic area and plenty of benches to sit and read. To the east and just on the other side of Shoreline is Eagle Park, also a popular destination for residents.
The neighborhood is made up of an eclectic mix of older (many remodeled) craftsman-style homes and contemporary construction such as Woodhaven Place. Along with mature trees, sidewalks, and low-traffic Shoreline West is a nice place for an evening stroll or just sitting outside watching the world go by.
There are quite a few local fixtures that have been around for years and likely to remain. The tiny California Street Market is an excellent example. It offers some of the best tasting tamales you’ll find along with all the basics you could need. A taste of “the old days” that remains in an area constantly growing with the demands of Silicon Valley.
Getting to work, if you need to, is very easy from here. The Castro Street CalTrain station is only a few minutes away. Getting to Highway 101 is also easy by just going down Shoreline Avenue. There is also Lightrail access. Whether working for a major local company like Google or heading to San Francisco or San Jose commuting from here is easy.
